IWC

My first bronze-cased watch. Some first impressions. I have to say the watch wears a little larger than its 36mm Ø would suggest. More like 38mm Ø. The dial is a really dark green, so dark that you need to shine intense light on it to see the green. Other...  

Unfortunately, I don't have a vintage IWC Mark 11. I only have the JLC version of the originals.

I'll have to wait as my budget is pretty much spent until the end of the year :-((

Compared to the IWC Mark 11 made from 1948 to 1981/2 and numbers of around 10,000+ have been bandied about.

Successful blend of classic and modern IWC. Stylish with the bronze case and aged patina lume, but not loud.

I'm curious to see how this bronze develops a patina. IWC's bronze is not supposed to turn green, but just darken.

I had the opportunity to get 1 via Mr Porter but I prefer the HODINKEE edition due to the size and the different case/look but the rake one is really nice too. I have a wallet made of the old leather and I didn't find the smell to be so negative but...it ... 

As for the reindeer strap I think if I air it out for a few days and then maybe use some leather moisturizer the smell can be neutralized.
