IWC Pilot Mark XVIII
Just a few pictures from a watch I belief is underrated and underestimated.
It’s a strong tool watch, solid movement, no fancy crystal case back but solid steel.
It’s the kind of watch that you wear every day to virtually every occasion.
The one I have (as my son does to) is the Le Petit Prince edition. The main differences (purely cosmetic) are:
- different strap the Petit Prince has beautiful thick dark brown leather with white stitches
- the case back is especially engraved
- the lower ring of the bezel is now high gloss polished versus all mat in the standard model
But the best is the dial, this blue that ranges from near black to light blue subject to light and angle.
So I call the “tool watch plus”

I tend to agree, their product line over the last few years hasn’t been really top notch. Predominantly iterations of existing models or take one particular model from a line and call it a line itself. I’m referring to Top Gun Pilot edition and BTW I flew...

I agree IWC is very wonderful tool-watch that seems underappreciated. I have owned several including the Mark XII , which was amazing and quite sturdy considering I was going downhill on a bicylce and it saved my wrist but took great shock when I dumped t...
Always a dilemma

The date window is an eternal dilemma. On the one hand a date window, especially if no other complications, tends to distort the balance of virtually any dial (like yin and yan and a date window haha) But on the other hand, I find a date indication especi...
