That the link of the MMR you put in line is the one a friend took with its calera while we were at the Boutique last April to try it again, with Asi, Ben, Milan and some other friends of mine....LOL Thanks to have found this link! Nicolas
In 2003, I began to pay some interest to the Minute Repeater Complication. There were some watches in the market, as, for example, the classic and gorgeous IWC Portuguese, still "affordable", I mean, when you compare it to others, like the Patek or Vacher...
Thank you amanico. I absolutely agree on your assessment of this piece. I had the pleasure of wearing the platinum version in Paris last year - WOW. I have yet to see the other version. In some ways I prefer it for its more modern design. The colour of th...
WOW !!! I know that's an "old" post but forgive me I'm new here. When I've discovered this article, I've read it avidly, from the begining to the end, then I've read the press release (very interresting as well). Then I went on the web to look for record ...
A true love story between her and me, for a bit more than 2 years, now. Even if I know this watch very well, even if I spent a lot of time analyzing it, admiring it, I'm still totally fascinated by it. That may be a good sign! Best, Nicolas
Sir Nicolas, Pt.version of the MMR is already a cut above, yet this Ti version launch this year shakenthe world of horology. As experince complication are usually in PTor gold, but JLC introduce it in Ti. Ti's appearance MMR's appearance like you describe Gr...
Hi Nicolas, Thank you Mr Moderator for sharing with us so well your love for your Master Minute Repeater! The watch is gorgeous and you sell it well! It's a dream for many of us but nearly made it come true. Keep on track my friend it's a great work. Than...
Incredible pictures of your minute repeater. THat is an exquisitie watch and thank you for taking the time to review and take such incredible macro shots!! Did you sell the IWC or is that your 'beater' repeater? haha
You are tempting me quite a bit with all these gorgeous pictures. I will have to revisit this beauty again at my AD! I have noticed that the gongs on this watch don't seem like they were made the traditional way. Instead of the traditional round extracted...
though, my persistent caveat about making sweeping generalizations about repeater models (and brands) ""Compared to other Minute Repeaters, these 2 are acoustically above the Parmigiani, the Breguet, the AP even in Titanium, and the IWC ( Well, I didn't t...
My proposal was to compare what is comparable, of course I didn't compare my MMR ti to a Grande Sonnerie or a Carillon watch, you're totally right, that is not the same range of complications nor prices. If I offended anyone here, I'm sorry, Heart is ofte...
I had many opporunities to play with the Platinum MMR, alone, and simultaneously with the Titanium. In the Boutique, or Shops, that's not very evident to make the comparision, BUT, I had the chance to spend a whole Week End with a friend who owns the Plat...
It is like being at a candy store. Seeing the watch on you and hearing the concert it produces was a real joy. Thanks for the review and the great picture. Bill
I wholehearted agree on the IWC MR. Probably one of the prettiest complications on he market. The JLC is a compltely different watch and I think you can easily get away owning both watches.
Thanks for the review and pics. I have to agree, this is a wonderful watch. I had the pleasure to play with the titanium version last month at the Wynn AD and it is truly beautiful and incredible sounding. Such loud chimes! Congrats on a masterpiece.
I appreciate the owner's insight into this rarely seen timepiece. I have to admit the platinum MMR did not impress me much considering the hype surrounding it when it was launched but the titanium is a whole different story. Ironically the titanium MMR di...
incredible piece, pics, review..!! What more can one say..!! I was lucky enough to hold a platinum one recently but couldn't hear it...one day I'd love to hear one in the flesh. Thanks Nicolas, Andy.
except that I'm still in love w/ my RG 5240: Actually I brought her along to the Launch of the original Paltinum Master Repetition Minutes a few years back. Have to admit during the dinner I compared the 5240 and the JLC and I wasn't impressed. It was bet...
Thanks, Nicolas, for the great review and superb pictures. That titanium is such a beautiful watch. I can understand you taking pictures of it because you won it, but how did you get those pictures of the platinum? And please don't tell me you own both! L...
I actually had the opportunity to see this piece in person when I was in Las Vegas couple weeks ago and I was drooling Congrats on your 1st review here, and keep up the great work! Much appreciated! Cheers, Anthony
... and watch the hammers striking! Day by day I sit in front of my computer screen resting my hands and waiting for the MMR screensaver to start. Than I pull the trigger and klick the start button, watch the lever work its way down on the outside of the ...
And I also play with! BTW, wonderful screensaver! Thaks for your nice comments, much appreciated! Let's see if you will appreciate my next review, I will post quite soon! Best, Christian! Nicolas
I' ll have to wait a bit for my Duo Metre, as I ordered it a month ago, after thinking the pros and the cons for several months... No, this will be a review, about ... Ok, I can say it, because if all works well, I put it online in a few hours...The Amvox...
that did not discourage me from getting an AMVOX1ti at a time when I was lead to conclude from JLCs press statements that there would be nothing that will come closer to the Polaris than the AMVOX1. You will know my concerns against the AMVOX1 from the ti...
According to my sources PROPER (for those who did not know: the Office of Pro be, P rosecution and E nforcement of the R ules of proper watch design) charges her of breaching the rules of proper watch design by making use of inconsistent and random design...
And you will have a surprise... I think after you'l agree that Magali doens't derve any punishment, but a lot of congratulations... Yes, Yes... Wait a bit, I prepare the Hammer and you'll see! LOL Best. Nicolas
... to win those cases were any defence has thought to be futile! So I am eagerly awaiting your defence! But lately I have got the impression that you may have been disregarding what Marlowe said: Never fall in love with a client! Best to you Christian
Is the MMR in titanium better finished than the platinum version (or what we can see of the platinum version, anyway)? For example, the hammers look a bit rough on the platinum version but appear perfectly beveled and nearly black polished on the titanium...
I think it's more due to the dust on the crystal ,rather to a less well finish on the platinum version. But the thing is also that JLC made some evident efforts to realise this open dial on the titanium model. As the finish is different, some can think th...
