Jaeger-LeCoultre

Good topic...

...and I am interested to read others' opinions. I am kind of exploring the same question.  I guess i am looking for the perfect Reverso for me.

I am curious, if you had the Grande GMT and regret selling it, why not get another one?  I had been thinking that the Grande GMT is the perfect modern Reverso, especially if one travels.  The 8-day power reserve is really nice.  But perhaps it is just a bit too thick or not as elegant as perhaps a less complicated Reverso might be...?  But I still think it may be the perfect modern day Reverso.

The 986 Duodate is lovely, but I do not like the date display.  If that were a large date or simple date display, this one would get my vote.

The Grande Date is lovely, too.  It also has the great 8-day power reserve and the view on the back side is very nice, indeed.

To your list I might add the Grande Reverso 976.  In this case, the dial is simple and lovely, time only without date.  But the caseback display reveals nothing special to look at (IMHO) and the power reserve is pretty standard at 48 hours.  Granted the movement allows for quick and easy time adjustments when traveling.

Lately I have been thinking that I would really like a very simple time-only Reverso in the XGT size case or even the 986/976 size with a superbly finished movement, something better than the usual finish on the Reversos, to view on the reverse side.

Well, I am looking forward to see what you decide and why.

Cheers,

respo
