How "robust" is the movement?
How "robust" is the movement? This has been on my short-short list since it was released, but can anyone comment on the fragility of the 868 movement? I'm curious how it compares to other ultra thin movements...although I know JLC is known for some of the finest ultra thin movements from this aspect. Meaning accuracy and ability to remain so even after shocks and daily wear and tear.

I feel its almost a must to have a display back. Even despite being an automatic, its a testament to show off the fine finishing that comes with watches within this segment. Even "simple" machine anglage with cotes de Geneve and pearlage is still a feast ...
Agreed. That's the difference between the general " clientèle " and the niche.

It would be nice if the dial was available in French, like the original - for me it would add a touch of romance (well, at least a Romance language, hehe) to the watch. Aside from that there is much to admire here, a great case, useful complication, nice ...

the black dial makes a statement of class and the new rotor is a nice touch. Personally would like one, but like my MUT Moon 39, I can't read the subdials well, and to me if there is a function or complication I can't use then I probably will pass. Still,...
I love the new case...
however, in the old version, in which JLC turned the complication plate 180 degrees, I liked better, especially with the last 2 digits of the year embedded within the top subdial. I feel it gave it better overall balance and made it look less like the Kur...
That is the only detail I don't like, on the current an on the former Master PC.

The year window is Mandatory on this calibre
as all is programmed to change all together with the ALONE pusher. I sold mine in WG, as if you do not use the watch for a long time (turn-over period) you have to push any missing date with the pusher. Or to put the watch on the winder. In fact, the year...

I didn't read any specific issue about this movement, Mark.
Now, if you let it fall from a table, as most of the movements, it may be problematic. But in other cases, and specifically for a daily wear, no problems. Best, Nicolas
