I own the original titanium version, here’s my 2 cents…
Pro
- Beautiful, clean look compared to some of the later variations
- Love the many layers in the dial
- Unique functionality that always make other watch fans smile
- Love the cut-out showing off the red movement parts
- Incredibky light for it’s size
- Love the many subtle colored details (yellow markets every 5 minutes, red numbers on sub-dials)
- You have to look really hard for the Aston logo
- No problems with the watch in spite of not servicing it for 12+ years (crossing my fingers here…)
Con
- Wears big. It’s a tall watch as well
- Legibility of sub-dials somewhat hard, date even worse due to small, deep date window
- Original strap is crap, lousy quality and boring looks
- Setting the time reveals that the crown/winding is weirdly geared. Takes more effort than usual.
All in all, I am a very happy owner. This is a watch representing the JLC that I miss where they had the balls to think outside the ‘normal ways of thinking’ in the watch industry.

So far, it appears that several variants of the AMVOX II were produced (including a platinum one, and several dial variants of the DLC titanium case) along with the AMVOX VII with a with the radial power reserve indication on the dial. The latter is gorge...
In my experience,
only the PVD coating on the buckle itself is really sensitive to chips, the cases themselves appear to be fairly tough against anything other than 'hairline' scratches. I'll share a picture of my buckle with you a bit later.... Cheers, Filip

I had a similar experience with my Amvox 2 and I found that loosening the strap a notch helped reduce the pressure of the case back. That may or may not be of any use to you!
If you can’t get the Amvox 2 to be comfortable on your wrist then I agree that it is a no go. I believe the case of the Amvox 7 was re-designed in some way and I wonder if that has helped address the sharp edge on the case back? Can you find another frien...
