Cool pictures.
I bought my watch from a dealer in Tokyo and it had been serviced by them or the previous owner at JLC in Japan just before they put it on sale. As a result I don't know how long the service took or the exact cost. However, when I received the watch it was on a non-JLC strap and so I ordered a proper Amvox strap from the London JLC boutique. While I was there I asked them to confirm, from their system, that the watch had actually been serviced by JLC. It had and the sales assistant mentioned the cost - I think it was over 100,000 Yen but I forget the exact figure. It probably equated to roughly £700-900/US$850-1,000. This was for a full service, polish, replacement crown etc. Basically the watch came to me looking like new. I remember thinking that the cost wasn't bad given the complexity of the watch and given they had done a really good job.
Enjoy your vacation and the hunt for an Amvox!
