So it seems you are NOT proud of your actions....that at least has some redeeming quality. Yet, on the other hand, you simply continue your actions as if they were justified. Baffling.
A necessary evil is one that is there for the common good. Evaluating a watch is most certainly benefitted by such a debate. However, as I indicated in the first instance, how one goes about debating that process distinguishes between educated and respectful behaviour .... or not. In your instance, your bring forward unsubstantiated, inaccurate and frankly absurd proposals. I am a Moderator on this forum, and I can tell you quite explicitly that your inferences are absurd.
Everyone is entitled to an opinion. The role of Moderator in this as well as other forums is to provide information and opinion. Nobody tells me if i have to like what Rolex produce each year. Last year's Daytona in platinum was obviously an important watch for Rolex, but do you seriously think either anyone from Rolex tried to induce me to say something positive about it OR whether I felt some obligation to say something positive about it? Absurd to think so. Having said that, anyone on this forum is entitled to support a watch they write about.... or not. Just as you argue so much for independent analysis, you seem to object to Nicolas giving his opinion....is it that only opinions that coincide with your own are valid? Help me out, its just not clear?
I will point out one further gaping hole in your logic....take a very brief look at the posts that have ensued about this Geophysic. Do you think JLC will be happy with the views that have been produced. Ultimately, those that inhabit this forum tend to have a mind of their own. People make up their own minds. You don't seem to give credit for that process. Take a look at the rash of criticism of JLC on all fronts that has emerged as a direct result of this article. You really think JLC would sponsor that? A watch speaks for itself. Independent thinkers evaluate for themselves.

That is a tough decision, the choice between the Pt and the SS.
I would say both, as they are very, deeply different. I woud say stainless steel, if only one is possible, because it is a toolwatch. And it is more coherent to own a toolwatch in stainless steel than in platinum. But the platinum has a lot of charm, too....
