I still miss a number of watches that I have churned over the past few years (most notably an Amvox I and an IWC St. Exupery UTC). Having said that, I am happy with where I am; in short, what I traded for made it worth it. It is quite entertaining to see ...

Nicolas, When I learned more about movements and how the watch vendors plays with movements, I was truly disappointed with Breitling and some other vendors. I fell hard to "fall in love" with a watch, no matter how beautiful, if inside it carries a vanill...

Evolution comes sooner or later. You are right. Objects of desire do change! But I do not agree with you when it comes to Breitling. Modern, yes! Not my cup of tea at all with one exception the Super Ocean. But vintage – I have seen some really nice... 

I also am reaching a similar point in my collecting life, it will be hard to part with some watches and very easy to part with others, but as our tastes mature our pallette craves more refined and complicated tastes. Bravo.

It's an interesting question and one that has made me pause and ask myself if I do have a plan or a goal. I'm not sure that I do in such a precise sense, say in the way some collectors are compleatists and want one example of every particular style of wat...

All share the same dial manufacturer ". Now, that is a crazy goal. Knowing that the Vintage Rlex had at least 4 different dial manufacturers, I would be curious to see how you would proceed... BUT, I already found some coincidences between some Vintage Wa... 

and partly in seriousness. I think this would be a difficult undertaking, but it seems to me that we know so much about movements and yet so little about early dial making. I certainly haven't found much information, but there was clearly a series of supe...  

As for the JLC Deep Sea Alarm and the Omega SM 300, I will tell you one day, if you're a nice boy. Interesting thema, Eitan... You can start with the Type XX... Mathey Tissot / Breguet, for example. Best! Nicolas

Thanks for posting this. It made me feel a little better about what I have been doing this past year and continue to do now. I just let one go that was very, very difficult for me -- but in the name of making way for a new watch that I think will suit me ... 

Please tell me it’s not your EWC! Yes, I have reached the point where I need to liquidate or move forward in a slower pace. The problem I don’t want to do either… I want to keep everything but still move fast forward… Childish? Yes... 

Hello Bomman I must say that you had one of the hell impressive collection, with some very rare and desirable JLC timepieces. At least what counts is that you enjoyed plainly and fully them when you had them. Your deepsea watches are very nice and desirab...

To give up your first love – that is very hard! My first JLC was Reverso GT, she don’t get much wrist time… But I can’t make myself let go of her! First loves always have a special place in our hearts. Thank you, Stefan! Best Blomm... 

I think we are a few around going through the same process, especially once you fall into the vintage trap!...It is also about balancing out passion and reason, and of course some financial reasoning behind it. it is always painful to let go a watch you l...
