We do a lot different things for love…
And for our love for watches…
When I started with watches my intention was that ALL watches I get should follow me thru my life, for better and for worse…
Now I must confess that I have joined the group of us here that give up watches to get another.
Sadly. :-(
So this part I dedicate to the watches I had to give up to get the pair of Deep Sea Alarm.
May they RIP or even better I hope they will get a wonderful life whit there new owner!
JLC Master Reveil RG 2007-2009.

This one I gave up because of a dear friend that absolutely wanted this one and since I have the steel version I didn’t mind.

And it was for a good course the TTP 65 and the TTP 68.

Panerai Luminor Marina 2003-2010.

Sorry for showing this one here but since I gave it up for a JLC I think it should be OK.
To give up this one feels sad but logical from my point of view.
44mm is out of my comfort zone. I prefer 37-42mm.
Because of this I didn’t wear her much.
I really like Panerai but have decided that this brand has to wait until I am closer to the finish line when it comes to JLC (so probably never)…

JLC Reverso Duetto 2006-2010.

This one I don’t mind at all, since it was my x-es watch. She didn’t take it with her and I can’t give it to anyone else…

JLC Reverso Squadra Hometime 2006-2011.

This one hurts, but it’s a natural choice to keep the RG LE version.

With the black dial and rubber bracelet the RG version so much sweeter on the wrist and to be honest the steel version didn’t get much wrist time…

JLC Master Hometime 2004-2011.

Now it is getting really painful! The Master Hometime is such a nice watch!

I am not sure if I will cope with living without this one…

But I will try because the amount of wrist time she got was not fair, such a beauty should get much more time then I gave her.

So, my loved once – I hope you all will have a great life on somebody else’s wrist!
The things we do for love…
We give up old loves in search for new…
It is very painful and I hope I don’t have to do it again (but I probably will)…

Things we do for love: Part #1
for the things you LOVE and what a great DSA you have!
I have been lucky in that I have yet to been forced to move pieces to add a piece. However, I do see it happening with a few of the new releases in SIHH and with my wife's decreasing patience for my expensive hobby.
What's the old saying: 'Tis better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all
Nice one Blomman!
But it still hurts when the love is still there…
Thank you, OC!

To help a dear friend.
To get two Grails (TT Polaris) – which resulted in me wanting more Grails (vintage Polaris, DSA)…
Realizing I can’t afford more the one brand (e.g. I am not imortal)…
A broken heart…
What really hurts is that both the Squadra and the Master HT was from the very first batch of production (I was very fast grabbing them when they were released).

I remember when she came to me!
Ah, so nice – big and bold, but still classic and beautiful!
Happy times!
Thank you, Sancerre!
Please send some Square love my way!

If you’re not there yet - you are a lucky man, George!
Because it’s at this point the real hurting starts!

Better, it is a good thing.
Your taste maturates, you are getting the " Creme de la Creme, " which is sadly quite expensive, but you can't hardly compare what you let go with what came or has to come, don't you think?
We should put some order in our collection, more often, and I do include myself, here.
I am tempted by a completely mad project, but I don't know if I have the guts to ahieve it...
Best,
Nicolas.

And yes – it’s totally worth it!
But it still hurts…
Mad project?!
Sounds very intriguing… and expensive!
Well, if – then you know where you can “dump” your old once…!
You have my number!

They are all fabulous, but as you said you lived with them and now they leave the sit to other watches you will share a part of your life with. Your pair of Deep Seas is beautiful !
Thanks for the pitures by the way .
Best,
Mark

But in the best of worlds - they would still be with me!

A Vintage Time only Super Ocean, which looks a bit like a blend of DSA Europe and a FF...
Or a Chrono for the Royal Canadian Air Force, for example...
Hmmm?
Best,
Nicolas.
