It is a nice comparison of the two watches's design, thickness and size. Both beautiful, I might add. I hope you can figure hot what is happening to the lume of the zero marker. That is strange for such a young watch. Best, respo

To see them both together made me notice a couple of things. If you look closely on the NSD, the inner circle doesn’t appear to be round, more like lines between the indexes. Hour and minute hands have black outer edges, which makes them appear smaller. A...  

I like both the NSD and the NSA, even side by side. I think the main thing for me, aside from the difference in complications is the number of compressor keys. For some reason, I like better the balance of two keys/crowns on the NSA, although the relative...

... I'm not convinced anymore. I think the 42mm size and thickness is very appealing, but the hands seem a bit small and somehow the 12, 9 and 6 numbers appear to be a bit too big. I'm thinking the NSA might be the one for me after all...

In general the 42mm size is better for my wrist, but my eyes prefer the NSA layout + my heart belongs to the alarm… Best Blomman

Does anyone know if this limited edition (1500 pieces?) encompasses all three (?) versions of the straps? That is, 1500 watches only ever made, but some with different straps? Or 1500 of each strap? A somewhat related question: when you have watch like th... 

It is a total 1500 pieces including all 3 types of bracelets. Yves

The articulated rubber is a very interesting material in the flesh - though I'm not 100% sure it works on this watch. But neither am I sure about the other two options....maybe a NATO strap?

Mine's not old enough but I have noticed 'play' in the bezel before it clicks to the next position. So, I am wondering if anyone else experiences this? Cheers...

Not in the one I had a chance to look at briefly during an AD visit, however, I do wish they would have opted for a tighter 120 click bezel-ring on the NSA, e.g. like on the Deepsea. It gives a better impression and is not too much to ask for on a $10K di... 

Didn't know it was a quantifiable thing in terms of clicks, but I have noticed that on many divers. The higher click counts makes for a more solid feeling watch. The sub I have also feels more solid. No idea how many clicks though. Cheers, Carmelo

Perhaps Nico can confirm, but I believe the NSA has the 'bent strip of steel' style unidirectional detent on the bezel (as opposed to the, for example, Rolex captive spring-loaded ball bearing). Next time you have the watch serviced it should be no proble... 

I felt that my bezel was turning way too easily compared to my MMD. I went to my AD and compared with a new they had just received. It confirmed my doubts: mine was incorrectly set up. My AD explained that this was an easy fix to be made by our local Rich... 

A friend of mine, who's quite into watches, told me when I showed him the picture of the NSA that the real standard issue navy seal was this Luminox. I may have said something stupid like only the top brass get the JLC version while the regular guys get t...  

JLC use the Navy SEALs as a Laboratory, and the SEALs use the JLC Navy SEALs ( Auto / Alarm / Chrono and Pro Geo ) only to test them. These JLC watches are not Military watches which are in dotation for the SEALs. The idea of this partnership is to test t... 

That makes sense. Thanks for the clarification and good to know. For completeness, is the luminox the standard issue which is used in the field? Based on the website, it seems a pretty commercial things...lots of models, colours, styles, etc. Just curious...

..but further to what Nico has already written, there are no more issued watches. Units might do a group purchase, but the US Navy's ANU (Authorised for Navy Use) list has this: COMMANDS ARE AUTHORIZED TO PURCHASE COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE OR STANDARD STOCK ...

... there will not be a standard piece. Each operator can choose whatever watch he wants, be it a Luminox, G-Shock or whatever. Certainly, this piece because of the white dail would be a no-go.... And one thing that is for sure, a mechanical watch is cert... 

I bought my NSA on 11th November 2010. It has spent 4 or 5 weeks on my wrist. Last week I was flying interstate and needed to adjust the time. When I attempted to do this the crown and spindle separated from the watch. For a watch that has 1,000 hours or ... 

It is sad, indeed, but it will be repaired without problems. It happened to me with a PP 5712, I sent it to the service center, and it came back flawessly, as epxected. No doubt that it will be the same with your NSA. Best, Nicolas.
