Question Regarding JLC Quick Release Deployant Clasps
Hello all -
I'm the happy owner of a 2016 JLC QP, and my wife owns a lovely Reverso - both of which employ JLC's quick release deployant clasp system. While we love both watches, I struggle constantly with one particular aspect of the JLC quick release deployant strap system. As those who are familiar will know, in addition to the spring bar quick releases between the lugs, there is also a connection between the deployant clasp itself and the leather strap. To release that connection (shown in the photo below), you push lightly on the "push here" area. It comes apart easily, however, I find it infuriatingly difficult to re-connect this part.
I've gone to the AD and asked what I'm doing wrong. Each time they show me how to reconnect it and it appears simple. However, when I get home I again struggle to connect it. So... I'm hoping there's someone here who can shed some light on the trick to re-connecting this part of the quick release deployant buckle to the strap.

I'm glad it isn't just me! :)
The manual spring bar release between the lugs is great and easy, but it takes me 30 mins to get this one silly connection together after it comes apart. I'm fairly sure there's an angle or position it is supposed to sit in so that it comes together easil...
The way to avoid the problem is to find the right way to open the clasp...
But I don’t want to run the risk to see it come apart... So I will put the buckle. Thanks for your post!

I am not wearing my JLC at the moment, but I will definitely take another crack at this using your images when I get home. Thank you so very much for posting this. I'm also glad I'm not the only one who has struggled with this silly little detail.

While I still find it a bit fussy, I was able to reduce the total time it took to change straps this morning, so I'm sure with more practice I'll continue to get better. Thanks again for your tips and quick reply. ...

You are amazing. This is nowhere to be found in the manual etc. Now it makes 100% sense. Mine fell off and the watch hit the floor. Did not look like that piece moves at all. You are a lifesaver.
