Can you explain what is going on with the pump device and the Deep On. At least waht is the pupose of the pump. I love the IWC Portugese 7 Days. Sweet Ride. Thanks Bill

This means you set it to zero. Go on your dive. The max depth is registered of the dive and when you get home you reset. Or You prepare the watch by pumping it and then when you dive it shows the variable depth. Still confused. Bill

This watch is a record keeper of the dive. Not really a diving tool to use as a reference during the dive in conjunction with other equipment. I have heard some of the other watches with this type of "complication - depth gauge" if one can call it that us... 

Nicolas, it seems that we have quite a few similar pieces including the misses' pieces as well. Overall, the Deep One is definitely a keeper - horological importance and investment. The only issue I have is that it often gets mixed up with the ETA-based A... 

Not THAT hard to find, I even know 2 for sale at the moment I'm typing this message... But hey, a piece to go on it..The plexy gives it a very warm look, quite vintage! Yep, a keeper. Seems that effectively, we have some watches in common, pana...LOL Best... 

For me the plexy just give the watch, not only a sharp vintage look but also it shows more of the Portugese's heritage and roots. IMHO, the Portugese current collection should have a more 'vintage' feel like your 5000. The 5002 is a nice watch, please don... 

Maybe we should have something interesting from IWC this year... Something in this spirit whixh IWC missed a bit, IMHO, this 3 or 4 past years... Let's see, and wait a bit, now. Best. Nicolas

I used to collect watch dials, but sort of given up for no apparent reason. A bit banged up, but still a beauty. This was an old photo that I took. I don't really know what sort of shape it would be in now. Your Panda dial still rocks. I really don't know...

I should really explain the dial and hands first before I get to the pump. The yellow inner ring is just a rotating dive time display. The outer ring displays the depth scale in meters. The yellow hand is the maximum depth indicator. The white hand is the...

Hi Pana, It is absolutely clear after your explanation. I did not see the second yellow marking the max depth arrow underneath the white one the first time round as I did not know what I was actually looking at. Crystal clear now thanks again. Bill
