Can anyone recommend a trustworthy AD in Hong Kong for repair under warranty? (since I will be back there for about 1.5 months, so I am thinking about bringing the watch back to do the repair). Or should I just do this in California where I live?

I think it's unfair to charge you $300 for the shipping/insurance since the watch is still under warranty. You did nothing wrong why should you pay $300 to have the watch repaired. It would be more normal if this shipping thing would be covered by the war...
