...for this review of what was obviously the showstopper at SIHH (at least as presented by JLC and perhaps by all brands).
This is without doubt a stunning watch. JLC never disappoints in terms of delivering interesting pieces year after year.
As for the finishing of the movement, I wish JLC were consistent in its finishing for this Duometre line. Like you, I wish the finishing had been at this level for the previous Duometre pieces. While JLC makes more of its watches accessable to more people by not finishing at such high levels across the board, perhaps this line of watches, and perhaps one or two other lines, should be finsihed at the highest level even if that means higher prices. Let's face it, none of the Duometre watches is very afforadable or appealing to anyone but the most serious collectors.
I also find the second timezone (fuseau) curious. I would have preferred this piece to have been all about the precision of the tourbillon -- perhaps that should have been THE only complication presented.
I still prefer the Gyro 1, in the end, when it comes to these dual-axis tourbis. But that may be my onw personal leaning toward concept watches. Nevertheless, it is great to see the Duometre line extended by this and the smaller version of the Quantieme Lumaire (which I love).
Thank you,
