The documentation says
that the the alarm crown must be pushed in to insure water-resistance.
Apparently the bezel can be operated under water, as there is no warning as with the alarm crown in the text.

... I'm not an expert at all with regards to the Polaris, but I wouldn't operate any crown under water on any watch. Isn't an internal timing bezel a bit of a faux pas with any compressor watch?... e.g. you cannot operate under water.

And as for your thought about Compressor Cases and internal bezel, I tend to agree, but historicvally speaking, the olaris Vintage is in the same situation, as The LOngines Diver Vintage is, too... These anomalies or faux pas are so lovely..LOL There are ...
