I think the charm of mechanical watches is that it IS old world tech.
Marrying it with digital would take away its appeal. I think the younger generation WILL see the appeal the more everything is digital/computerized tech Digital/computerized has no soul to many of us.
I like how mechanical watches are one of the only things that don’t require constant charging.
These days your phone, car, headphones, even sunglasses and ring can require constant charging. A mechanical watch is set it and forget it as long as you wear or wind it.
A mechanical watch does not necessarily have to look 'old'.
I think that's important if you want to attract the new generation, who are basically obsessed with social media. Mechanical on the back, digital on the front. JLC has everything needed to create a new dial, nothing too weird. Or perhaps they should break...

The development is much more advanced, unfortunately 🤷🏻♂️ The watch industry is following with at least 2 decades delay and has a key advantage - there is no need to acquire a license or pass a test, which is largely only done before people turn 30 😉 ...
