Jerome LAMBERT is, to me, a great CEO, with all the qualities you mentionned, and a Passionate gentleman.
I had the pleasure to meet him several times, and I can tell you that it is always a pleasure to speak with him.
His disponibility is really amazing.
You wondered if the JLC offer was not too broad, I don't think so, personally.
Some will regret that JLC doesn't focuse on only Classic watches, but I don't think it is a bad thing at all.
We can't compare such different brands as Lange and JLC, whose " targets ", audience, production, and infrastructures are not the same.
Lange produces 5000 Watches per year, when JLC releases around 50 000.
I don't know how many people work at Lange, but more than 1 000 work at JLC, which is enormous.
The History of these 2 brands are not the same, either.
And, if you have a look to JLC History, you will observe that offering such an important diversity belongs to the DNA of the brand.
So, my opinion is that it is an excellent thing that JLC offers watches which may be loved, admired by different people.
Look at us, we don't have the same tastes in watches, we don't love the same watches, some are more classical, others are more modern, it is not a problem, it is the richness of our Community, IMO.
As for Eric Cpoudray, he left the Manufacture in 2007, if I'm not wrong, so almost 3 years ago.
I agree with you that he was a talentuous watchmaker, but I can tell you that from what we can see every year, and still this year ( be patient, it is a matter of days...
), JLC has an amazing team, and some watchmakers who will never stop to amaze us.
I want to thank you for your very interesting input, Patrick!
Best,
Nicolas
