I am sorry I did not get a chance to post earlier, thanks so much for providing this look inside such
a rare (and sealed!) watch.
I am no expert but it really looks to me mechanically pretty much identical to
what I can fathom of the 829. A few posts seemed to indicate disappointment that the
cosmetic finish was not nicer, and I am of two minds about this. No disputing that it does
not Wow like a Lange or other fine house, and a look at the earlier 829 shows that it can be
dressed up beautifully, but I have also learned to make an effort to appreciate simply
excellent functional finish, and although the perlaged plates and smoothed steel bits are
not my favorite, it seems hard for me to finger any real shortcoming...it all looks
mightly clean and I'll bet the other side is just as nicely done!
Anyhow, rectangular chronograph movements are truly unusual, and this one
is an (I think) under-appreciated classic, thanks for the view!
(Here's the 829 for those who may not have seen it)
