There are indeed many sages here who'll be able to offer advice, and I know one or two who own/have owned variations on the Amvox chronograph. I'm not going to claim any great expertise (though I own a few JLCs), but as you intend to swim with your planne...
The crystal pusher chronograph for the Amvox is a much more interesting complication
It's something fun that you could interact with whenever you're bored. Sounding the alarm on a memovox every other minute is going to piss people off
