What a great surprise and a nice story you tell us dear Blomman...
The E 2644 is really a little beauty.
A few years ago I had the chance of meeting here in Buenos Aires a high rank representative of JLC for South America visiting my Country.
He showed me the beautiful Gyro tourbillon he was wearing and I surprised him with my E2644 which I was wearing on the occasion.
He was surprised to see it and asked me to photograph it with his phone to show to his colleagues in Swiss.
Wouldn’t it be great if JLC would offer a dial like this in a modern timepiece?
Of course the charm of vintage and the small size of this watch are part of its attractive look and this can’t be reproduced but I feel it could be a wonderful offering today.

A watch with real charm. As Abel says below, something special about these older examples. A touch of whimsy and not so serious can be a plus.

These older versions have a charm and lighthearted elegance that is not quite matched in today’s more serious looking watches. Vintage homages are everywhere, but the spirit of the times is hard to recapture.
