Where do the do the "1000 hours" testing
I just learned this from looking at my Grand Seiko's certificates that they do 400 hours (17 days) on all their mechanical watches.
Since the JLC talks about the 1000 hours, and that takes 41.66666 days, I suspect there must be a big room filled with winders and such... or are they in each assembly area?

The final adjustments of the movement on all positions, normally using some sort of "time measurement machine". Cheers (packing to Europe, did you got my PM?)

There is a dedicated workshop for the 1000 Hours Control, Mike.
The rule is that the watchmaker cannot be the one who controls his work. Another thing is that almost ALL the watches are submitted to the 1000 Hours Control, at the exception of a very few ones, such as the Cal 101. Best, Nicolas.
