First thought: Whoa!

That's really impressive to have a watch that is fire resistant.

So, it's flame resistant...  Does it really meant that it's going to last longer than normal leather straps?  These leather straps are starting to get expensive, at $400-500 a set for an alligator strap, I'm really starting to complain when I have to replace them.  So it'd be nice if the strap is much more resilient.

The question is this, does making the strap with this new special rubber material that also happens to be fire resistant make the strap truly last longer in real world conditions?
