Curious, do you find the strap to be a little thick for the 232? If it came with the 1950 case, then perhaps it's more padded.
Unless, you intentionally want a slightly thicker strap so the watch appear a bit smaller. If that's your intended effect, then it's perfect.
I know someone who has put a very very thick strap on a rose gold 266, and the watch wears almost like a dress watch.
