Dear Damjan: you put things very difficult for us...

I personally feel that the 578 and 372 are the most desirable watches in the present catalogue of Panerai, at least for my personal "gusto".
The fact that the 578 is an historic rendition or homage to a military (Italian navy) Panerai watch of the past, and also being a limited edition of 1000 units, makes me to chose it as a priority and as such I searched it and finally luckily got it just a few days ago as I have explained in my previous post.
But I´m sure the 372 will arrive to my collection during 2015 to complete my collection of Panerais... for the moment! Lol.

for me representative of recent Panerai and I appreciate that. A real vintage is a must have but very rare and expensive these days. A new release of vintage spirit is just a pale copy, even if It can be done nicely of course. For me, Panerai is doing too...

The 372 IMO was one of the better things which came out of OP
..but it did not stop there.. ..there were few more re-editions and remakes and remodifications of many more models after the 372.. ..not saying the 587 is not appealing but I prefer the 372 more, Damjan.

I would personally choose the Marina Militare. I find it's charm irresistible.

but i'd sure would like to see the 587 with the crownprotector of the 372 :) maybe i will have to do a swap and put the dial and hands of the 587 in the case of the 372 !

I will pick the MM if it is not manual. I find the screw down crown not as convinent as the crown guard "mechanism" which is simple functional yet so panerai. I hate to imagine I might ruin the screw tread when doing such so often. Yeah, my pick is the 37...

Of those 2, I'd pick the PAM372
The crown guard is the decision maker for me. If I have to have only 1 Panerai, it has to have the crown guard. Cheers, Anthony

The 372 is a big deal, but...
...the Marina Militare sterile dial is a plus hard to match...then if I put the pencil hands and the SE 1000 pcs into the equation to me it's game-set-match for the 587.
So 587 won...
