I'm biased but I would rather get the 246
Since u've mentioned that you can't stop looking at the PAM246, that is the one u should get.
If you're looking at it in terms of collectability and investment-wise, I think the PAM190 has a better chance to appreciate in the short-term. But in the long run as Panerai climbs up the horological ladder, I think the 246 will be a better investment because there will be more demand for watches with complications due to the new crowd Panerai is beginning to target IMO.
Watches are not good investments in general, so as a rule I would just buy which ever one makes your eye twinkle more.

panerai 190 or 246
i have a chance to buy both of these watches but will only pick one. i like the 190 due to the gold hands and the JLC movement with the power reserve on the back. However the 246 is very interesting although i doubt i would really benefit from the 1/8 sec...

The one and only one Panerai Chrono is the Mare Nostrum. The 190 is a pure and beautiful watch, with one of the best 8 Days Movement, and much less expensive than a 246... Did I convince you? LOL Best. Nicolas
