I have to explain, I think....
from a strictly aesthetical point of view, the 587 would be my favourite. I love the case. On the wrist, MY wrist, the 673 it's just perfect. The 587 felt way to chunky for me. As you might have noticed, I bought BOTH anyway Lolllllllllllllllll

Liked the dial and case and hated the crown guard. I also hated the size. That’s for me obviously, and it’s really a matter of personal preference.
My favorite here is the 587 Nicolas. It came with the old P3000 movement.
But I also liked so much the 673 looks with the new P3000 movement and its classic crown bridge. So… you know Dexter: this kind of dilemma has only one answer: get both! lol! (PS: you know I love the MM inscription on a Panerai dial!!) Abrazos amigo mío!!...

Aesthetically, I have a slight preference for the 587, so that's my vote. It's my favorite modern Panerai. But I will always remember Sergio comparing the two cases and noting a slight comfort advantage for the 673. So this brings the two quite close in m...
They are both beautiful old school Panerai.
But for me the 587 is my preference as I just think it looks better without the crown guard, and who doesn't love a Marina Militare Panerai. Marc

The 587 is thicker?
I didn't realize that! I also prefer the 587 aesthetically, but that thickness difference would, for me, favor the 673.

I had both but, I've actually never measured the actual thickness. The 587 would just "sat" much higher on MY wrist. I did take pictures of the lugs and found out there was a minute, but substantial difference in them. I'm not a "cybernetic" chap. The pic...

If you just bought a 662 Radiomir and a 368 Luminor, would you feel the need to add another Radiomir to your collection, albeit one dial says Panerai and the other Marina Militare? For the vote, I too would choose the 587. 368 662 ...

Although I really love look of the 587, I still prefer the 673.
The crown guard is for me not only a defining feature of the Luminor, but also a truly practical and effective protection for the crown. It simply makes sense.
