You started in saying many to now a possible 10... Anyway all I say is I have still to find some backings for those unmarked pieces.
For example in my book I doubted the ever use of the Panerai 2533 by the marina militare, whom when I asked them (1998) never recalled using those pieces. 2 years ago (2010) most documents about the 2533 were found (Rolex to Panerai to MM to Panerai and back to Rolex), I will never doubt again the 2533
(Docs are available in Italy for anyone to see)
So no I disagree with you, in the Panerai world too, looking, searching, leg working etc... Swith patience is always rewarded one way or the other.

What is your concern with the Cali dial? Many Cali 3646 did NOT have Rolex signed movements or casebacks, but cal 618 nonetheless... unless I misunderstood you! Looks correct to me :)

It is my understanding that nothing was really archived in the Vintage Panerai world....
So we are left to rely on what information we can gather from the pieces known... I would be concerned if there was only 1 Cali 3646 with this configuration, but as Asi states, there are 10 pieces to date that are "sterile".... In my eyes, this Cali dial ...
There are a few other factors to look at, so I wouldn't exclude Nico's concern

Post 1943 the Xa Mas is isolated for 2 years, meaning it is no longer then considered Italian or residing within an Italian governed region, therefore no way would have Panerai been able to supply 40,50 and whatever amount of watches to the 'enemies'. And...
