My first (and definitely not my last) Panerai...
After a little more than a year of researching different brands, visiting countless stores and reading endless threads on this awesome site, I am happy to announce that I finally made my decision and picked up a PAM 312. First of all, I'd like to thank all you Panerai veterans who answered my newbie questions throughout this process. Your opinions and posts have been extremely educational and entertaining. I'm probably the slowest decision maker you'll ever meet 
I was briefly considering the 352 but decided that since this is my first Panerai (and who knows when I'll have the funds to pick up another one) I wanted to go with the black dial to maximize my strap options. But most importantly, the 312 is what drew me into the brand in the first place and now that it's on my wrist, I have absolutely no regrets. I keep staring at my wrist in disbelief - cheesy, I know - but I'm so excited I don't know what to do with myself. Hopefully there will be a 233 somewhere in my future but I'm going to enjoy the hell out of this for now!

I Have A 312 Too
Congrats on your investment. I, too, was deciding which PAM to get and selected the 312 as well. I selected this one because I didn't need a GMT, wanted an in-house movement, wanted a clear back, and didn't want a metal band.

I went for the 312 for the same reasons as well as the 1950's case, sandwich dial, cyclops-less date and tang buckle. Basically I wanted a robust daily wear watch that I wouldn't get tired of looking at and at this price point, the 312 fit the bill perfec...
