Same here to be honest
Amazing how quickly you can forget stuff without regular practice, we did a refresher course and our instructor was great. Dive was in Izu south of Tokyo.
After 2 diveless years....
local dive instructors, normally, insist to make the first one, a check-out dive...I've never stayed 2 years without diving but I saw few.....out of practice ones

In Japan there is a monumental number of nudibranchs, funny shripms, boxer crabs etc Only caveat, you have to look on the seabed.... Sorry but, before I grew imbarassingly old, I was a "possessed" diver for 40 years Lolllllllllllll
