Panerai 164 Glass Replacement Question

Hello Everyone,

My 1st post  after doing a search that came up empty.
I have a couple Panerai's, a 310, and a 164.

The 164, there is a scratch on the crystal, I have no idea how it happened, might have been from a fall or something when I was impaired, but none the less, I need to have it replaced.

I was wondering if anyone that lives in the Greater Toronto Area would have any suggestions on replacement?
Is any sapphire crystal for a 44mm watch be okay?  or does it have to be authentic from Panerai?  Can any jeweller do this or does it have to be an Authorized Dealer.
I called the service center here in Toronto, and they have advised me that I have to take it to an authorized dealer who will ship it to them directly, they won't accept walk-ins.  Understandable, but my problem is the return time is anywhere between 4-6 weeks.  I'd rather have it replaced by someone if it's possible sooner.  If I must, then I will go thru an AD, but I'm unsure if anyone else had had to have their crystal replaced, and if you guys have any other suggestions to help with my dilemma.

I'm new at all of this so any suggestion would be great.
