Panerai will always maintain their base value
No matter how you slice and dice it. There is no discounting at the start so everyone knows what the base prices are and the demand is always grater than the supply. I say this to remove future value and desirability questions out of your decision making process.
Now that that is settled.
Let's focus on what is going to work for you. Depending on how attached you get to a watch which a lot of us do; are you happy starting at 40mm knowing from the beginning that you, as most have in the past, will most likely want to try a 44mm before long. Bigger is not better just the lust for more of a good thing. Many have taken the 40mm to 44 path so maybe you should commit to that path. The true measure as we always say is "which one sings to you" when you strap it on. That will be the defining moment. You really need to try the watches on in person and your heart will tell. I explained the brain response above so it will remain quiet.
Good luck.

PS Titanium is lighter but fit is the best gauge of size.

The 40mm models aren't very popular on this forum are they? I too have small wrists and my PAM 48 40mm fits like a glove. I also like the fact it appears quite understated compared to the bigger models. I say you should buy what feels right and actually s...
