As I may have mentioned, I'm also looking for the sake of diving. Only got my certification in the past year! On the certification trip I alternated between a Doxa Sub 300 and IWC Aquatimer. I ended up feeling that the Doxa was, stylistically, too great of a contrast with the modern dive equipment. It worked just fine in the water but it didn't FEEL like it belonged.
The IWC was much better, so it was my only watch on the last diving trip... and as much as I enjoyed wearing it in the water, it became really clear that in the future I should be diving with something that has an external bezel. So here I am, looking at Sea Dwellers, Fifty Fathoms, Submersibles, slightly less vintagey Doxas... still not sure what should be next but currently leaning PAM 25!

All of them are truly beautiful vintage old school Panerai's.
