105.003 turns also brown
Hi, the 105.003 and even ck 2998 and 2915's can turn into a chocolate dial!
I own a 105.003 with wonderful brown dial in superb condition. In the moment it is out for servicing the movement but I will post pics as soon as it is back.
It is probably the most wonderful watch/dial I have ever seen 
I looks like the brassiness coming through the colour or is reacting with the black cover. It has a very deep shine not at all compareable with the new brown dials available now for SPeedmasters.

does anyone know what it is about the 1969 speedy that makes it turn chocolate when other models dont? if only the 105.003 went brown i'd be in a perfect heaven.

That's a beautifully aged Speedy, A.F.W. . . .
. . . and looks as though it's in pretty good condition overall. Please take extra caution when having it serviced, as you don't want to have the dial replaced by a watchmaker who thinks he's 'improving' it for you . . . regards, Art
