I agree with you. I sold nearly all of my modern stuff,&I now only collect vintage. as well as being chronometer grade most of the time, the vintage watches just have more panache & mystique. a vintage watch is like Audrey Hepburn or Marilyn Monroe, whereas so many modern hockey pucks on the wrist are like Madonna or Roseanne. more than nostalgic, you have good taste & style.

thats a very good question. a lot of it has to do with appealing to the masses and it is clear that the majority of people who buy watches prefer bigger ones at the moment so thats what they make. they did make some nice pieces in their museum collection ...

But the problem is that in 1984, Hayek's right hand Ernst Thomke dedcided to get rid of all the tooling that was used to manufacture the vintage OMEGA movements and since that day OMEGA lost its manufacture status and became assembleur using ETA ebauches....

the tooling wasn't sold but destroyed by Ernst Thomke (hayek's right hand in 1984)
