Obviously this watch needed service badly. Missing stem and crown, chrono doesn't engage and the dial is abit aged. But at least it is all original. Not too keen on the lum on the hands. ...

I think it looks good as is and hope you are only restoring the movement and not the dial and hands as I think all that wear and patina helps tell the story of its history. But at the end of the day it is your watch so you can do what suits you best but a... 

I was told that this was came from the original pilot owner. I should try to get the name of the owner if possible. Thanks Nicolas for the reminder to just service the movement only.

movement to the case and the movement doesn't want to come off. The badly rusted broken stem is stuck to the case. My only choice is to remove everything to gain access to the stem and hopefully the rusts didn't spread too much. Keep my fingers crossed!!

Have lots of my own to restore still.

Just finished service it last night. It looks great and good to put on the wrist. Have to look for a nice band and a crown. ...  

. . . in your back yard! RCAF is one of the most collectible Omega chronographs . . . few made, not many original survivors. I don't recall ever seeing one in the metal. Photo of original hands . . . . . . and movement from my photo files. I didn't log in...
