Dear all. Vintage Omega Collectors love to say "never say never to vintage Omegas" to protect the originality of their watches. Today, I am trying to do the opposite things, to set up some "Rules of thumb" for beginners to learn, to look at when they buy ...  

Hi Hoip... Ok the fun part will be to find the counter intuitive example ... Some of the bumper 352 Seamaster have the second track near the inside of the min markers and the min hand extends to the outside end of the min markers. I will see if I can find... 

Hi given that the data available are going to be fragmentary and of unknown distribution, I would suggest that your aim should be to create "hypotheses" rather than "rules". Hypotheses that are formed this way can later be tested to be more or less credib...

Hi Hoi... What you want to do is a good thing.... Franco is just pointing out that once stuff is posted on the net , its gets a sort of automatic acceptance as " etched in stone" .... so the naming convention that Franco mentioned is important for net pub...

I like to call them generalisations because with Omega there is always exceptions in my experience. One generalisation that I work with on Connies is that the minute and second sweep should marginally reach over the inner 'circle' of the chapter ring wher... 

Hi Desmond. Please don't use a caliper to measure. You may already know Omega used same hands for some different dials. Same hands are used on 168005 (smaller dial) and 168004 (bigger dial) To me, this is ok and accepted. Talking about dome dials I have q...  

Hi Hoi, what I have observed over the time is that hour hands are often ridiculously short in proportion to the minute hands... What comes into mind are the SM olympic models... they have very short hour hands (although factory original). here is one exam...
