I finally found it a sister... While doing my homework on the Omega Vintage Diving Watches, I had 3 options... Adding a military SM 300: BUT, even if things look good ( non ratchet bezel, good case back and dial, screw in crown, fixed bars ), it may be mu...  

I think the SM300s from the late 50s to the late 60s are relative bargains. They are good looking, have a real history and are perfectly suitable as a daily wearer. The RM and the straight lug speedmasters are certainly worthy targets. If I might add a th... 

And I agree even more if you compare the first or the following generation ( my 14 755 ) with the Rolex Subs direct competitors ,like the 5508 / 6536, not to speak of the 6538! These first SM 300 bring a lot of pleasure, indeed! As for the RAF '53, no ide... 

It is a large size - 37mm without crown, antimagnetic, military markings and has a thick 1mm dial....

....and more overall appeal with that thin bezel. Makes the face look very open. The big crown is very attractive, and the watch looks to be in great condition. As an aside, I really appreciate posts like these. They open up beautiful corners of the vinta... 

If I was lucky enough to own a Rolex 5508, the pic would be terrific! There are some watches which surprise me when I know that they only are 39 mm. This SM 300 belongs to this category. It looks like the case is a good 40 mm. Thanks for your nice words. ...

hi Nico, I think you made the right decision, if i were you, i would also make the same choice. this watch gives a more unique look with dial, bezel, hands etc than the classical one. looking at your new catch, i am sure i will get one omega diver sooner ... 

It is already hard to only collect Vintage, but when you also are found of moderns... What a Beautiful problem, by thev way! Back to this SM 300, I'm completely in love with, and, to me, one of the nicest Diving Watch of the moment. Yes, you should consid...

I love everything about this watch: the case with straight lugs, the bezel, the 3-6-9-12 dial, the movement, the hands.... And....it's an Omega ! Yours is a terrific example: Big congrats my friend ! Cheers Jeff

You´re SM will not walk alone, indeed. I had the possibility to admire it in the flesh, like your first SM 300, and I must admit that both are really impressive. Your last 14755 is a mix of a tool watch and a really elegant and nice watch. Your first SM 3... 

Than Vintage FF, Emilio, but that doesn't mean that I underate the Vintage Omegas... I just have choices to do, and Omega went a bit later, for me. But while collecting watches, you always learn and find new marvels... And new problems. We share the same ...

the world of vintage Omegas is very deep and dark as you are finding out. the early model was the best choice as you have one of each. its a shame that they are not both from 1964 as for the military Omegas, unless you want to start on the road to hell do...

Stefan, it was an 'off the cuff' remark as i intend to visit Filip and Nico next year if things work out as planned and we would have a fair few vintage Omegas together by then especially if Dr Strong can attend to name but a few, but now you mention it, ...

WOW! They complement each other incredibly! On one side you have your SM 300 with a very rugged look and then your newest arrival, the thin bezel, is just out of this world! The thing that I like the most is that I can find many of the design features of ... 

It was really love at first sight! I'm not very keen on the modern Omegas, except one piece, the Central Tourbillon, wich is really killing me. But I will have a look at the modern Planet Ocean...You mean the one with the orange bezel???? Best, Hermano, a...

We never know, indeed, but I have some doubts I will end with a big collection of Vintage Omegas. Not that I don't admire a Connie, some early Chronos, or other Sea Masters, for example, but I started a bit too late, IMO, for such a collection. My purpose...

I can only tell you that most of the JLC and Omega Vintage are very affordable, they just don't are, sometimes, not easy to find. And both are full of charm, too. It is just a question of time, and Hunt. Cool, no? As for the Duo shots, this is one of my h...
