Hope all is well Blansky!

Agree 100% with the preference to try before you buy. I have found that oftentimes a dial looks completely different than the same one you see on a computer screen. I’ve owned the 90’s version, both blue and black. And that is a good question, I am not sure. Regarding the newest black dial with no date , it’s an aluminum dial that is then laser engraved to achieve the wave pattern. On the other one in my OP, that is a ceramic dial, also laser engraved to achieve the wave pattern. I think both look really cool but have trouble deciding which evokes more emotion. I’ve owned the one on the left, so considering taking the plunge for the slightly cleaner no-date version!
