In most cases (no pun intended!), I'd agree . . .

 

. . . but in this instance, I will be holding off judgement until trying it on later this year.  Nominal size is one matter, but there are other aspects - height, proportion, angularity, dial design - that contribute to the presentation.  Or, in other words, not all 40 mm watches wear the same.   


I wouldn't be a customer for one of these precious metal variants, but in steel, and preferably without a calendar complication: most definitely.
