we regularly have 2, 3 or 4 Speedmasters appear on Friday wristscan, often posted by different people which got me to thinking. i wonder how many people on this forum own at least one speedmaster, who own several speedmasters and what models people own. S...

thankyou Mr Plater. to identify age and model is Zimplez. take the caseback off. on the inside of the back will be the model reference 145.022 i think in this case with possibly a year -71 etc. the movement serial number will help to indicate the year of ...

First of all my 1995 Speedmaster which already developped a nice patina ... . Secondly the watch worn by Buzz on which i have no further details... . and thirdly a IMO very underestimated watch: The Speedmaster reduced automatic: very accurate,well finish...

that is a beauty Franco. the hands and dial patina are superb. the chrono hands have been replaced, but thats a common thing and doesnt matter as long as the hour and minute hands plus dial keep the patina which yours does. best Graham

AAahh, I understand now. I thought you were referring to the absence of those diamond-shaped subhands, typical of the earliest 2998s. In reality they are not too clean, it must be an unfortunate angle of light, i.e. the picture .... I will take better pic...

Achim, those are 3 fabulous pieces to add to this roll call. #1 is known as the 'holy grail' with the 1045 calibre in a moonwatch case, highly desirable and uncommon, the following 2 are just history in the flesh, lollipop hands, broad arrow hands, it doe...

I remember the first time I saw a Speed I fell in love with ...It was a CK 2915 Brown dial, SS bezel, big arrow hand. I asked for the price, and I began to run out of the shop. After this traumatizing experience, I had to recover, and began to look after ... 

one day my friend you will find the right one for you. the problem is that as the years pass the prices of the 2998's etc go up, and up. have you considered the 'replica' like mine in the ice pic? it has the same hands/bezel etc as the 2915, but at a much...

i've noted that the vast majority are the classic speedy pro as your is, but there are also a huge percentage of vintage pieces, pre 1970. once you get to 1970 the model doesnt really change so unless you want a particular year you might as well buy a new...

Well my newly acquired 3750.50 is not a patch on the great vintage models on show here, but I'm loving the watch and especially the hesalite crystal. I show it here with the time it took me to return from my holiday destination in Bristol to home in Edinb...  

your being very self deprecating about your Speedy as apart from a few changes to the movement, from 1969-70 to the present day they are all pretty much the same. some of us like the vintage pieces for our own personal reasons, but others prefer new ones....
