Fortunately, I have a watch-shop that will test my watches to 60m. Which is, to me, plenty enough for peace of mind for the depths I'd ever take them to.
On a proper dive watch, my subjective assessment is that any issue with seal installation (twisted, not seated correctly, hair over the o-ring) should show up within 5 min with a weak 10m test. Fortunately, I have a watch-shop that will test my watches for free. They start at 3m, then 10m then up to the max machine capability of 60m. Which is, to me, plenty enough for peace of mind for the depths I'd ever take them to.

...the sealing surfaces and o-ring grooves are not pitted or damaged, if the seals are replaced correctly, there should be no concern with any water resistance, well, not to any recreational depths...
And your rings and seals are checked on a regular basis...
....as my SM300 was restored by Omega Bienne. A brief search or scroll down will give you a good indication of my reasons for caution. Primarily my comment was an inside remark as Graham noted the 'TLC' required by these old ladies. ;o)

Graham, you're indeed too greedy, my friend. As for your question, my advice would be to not touch the dial, hands and bezel, and to improve the WR of your watch... Just make it Water Resistant. Then you'll be albe to enjoy it a lot, without " destroying ...

one day my friend you'll find a 64 in the condition you require. this particular watch deserves a restore. it has been heavily used and needs some work. i'll be looking for a nice strap and might attempt a Nato to match dial and lume. best G
