This is the regular-production, two-tone edition.
The primary difference between the two editions is the dial--the Rio edition features gold, silver, and bronze sub-dials, where as on this edition they are all gold--and the bracelet--the Rio edition bracelet is all stainless and this edition features gold center links.

I agree, no date would be ideal.
Or at least color match the date wheel with the warm grey of the dial 🤦♂️. Same could be said for the base of the hands.
