The seller and the auctioneer where he had bought it, were both convinced to sell a genuine watch.
My watchmaker - who is experienced with vintage Omegas - detected a technical problem, but found no indication for the watch to be put together (apart from the replaced hands).

Some forumners here were raising this suspicion and induced me to have the watch sent to Omega.

Their reputation has now been confirmed by Omega, which is an accolade for PuristS too!
My seller was doubting the basis for your scepticism (all these self-appointed specialists on the internet, you know ...) and now he had to acknowledge you were right!

So, thanks again to all who helped me with this watch!

P.S. For the money refund I bought my wife a nice wedding anniversary ( due next February) watch smile. Definitely brand new and genuine.

Actually I just recently thought how you might be doing - and now your post arrives :-)! I lost a bit of money on my expenses for the watchmaker which was not substantial and recieved a full refund of the price by my seller. So I gained a lot of experienc...

I'm quite surprised by him missing the faults on this watch because he has a good reputation. Perhaps it was older than he is used to dealing with. G

there are no excuses for such behavior - if somebody claims to be a professional seller he should know what he offers - otherwise it would be better he sold hotdogs... Often they just try to find a buyer who is not so well prepared and does not research e...
