finally and rather embarrasingly my Seamaster 30 has arrived from the US. when it actually arrived i dont know as i only found it on saturday when i went to the shed to get my power washer out and there, just inside the door, was a small pile of mail put ...

thanks Andy and you can see them any time you like. if you want to see everything i own you'll need to come to mine, but if you only want to see the 64's i have car and can travel. i know it sounds like a lonely hearts ad. i've had a lot of practise latel... 

... i'd say at least as interesting Graham !!! a '64 a nice delivery-story .... you can consider yourself lucky it even arrived the dial is very cool too, i've always loved these kinds, though i must say the dial on my '63 is to die for ... Another great ...

Hi G Nice watch , but the dial looks odd to me... Luminous hands and lum style markers and no lum ? Also the "Seamaster 30" font looks slightly off and the weight of the type is also odd. any thoughts? Best regards Bill

Bill, i've not had much time, but i've had a look at it under a loupe and i agree that the font looks a bit heavy, but it looks to be right apart from that. its possible its a very good redial. the way things are going at the moment i wouldnt be surprised...

now i've looked at it yet again under a loupe it is possible that the lume has been removed from behind the markers. its been done very well, but the dial appears very slightly darker in a little blob behind the markers so it could well have had lume orig... 

. . . I've no doubts about the genuineness of the dial because no one would go to the effort of creating the fine engraved pattern. I can't recall seeing a similar patterned dial from Omega, but the effort in creating this effect mitigates against the pos...  

hey Art, kick me while i'm down why dont you :))))))) i really dont know about the dial. i'm pretty convinced it is a genuine Omega one. the hour hand doesnt overlap the markers, it runs 'just' above them. there is a slightly darker mark behind each marke... 

I would like to think that the minuteshand reaching up all the way to the 1 minute divisions is a typical feature of a vintage Omega ! cheerio, Ben.

i've just been manipulating pics for my imminent post of all my 1964 watches and side by side with 3 other pieces from the same era i agree that the hour hand is longer than another dagger hand on a constellation so its possible the hands are replacements... 

. . . my comment was intended for hour hands, which usually travel just out of reach of the markers. From Graham's photos, it appeared there was an overlap with the hour hand, but that's apparently an artifact of the photos . . . most cordially, Art

i found a very nice 562 calibre 1964 seamaster last night, but i'm going to give it a miss i think. my car is having electrical problems which need paying for first. best Graham
