I am decided to start in the Omegas world but I am completely new to this brand. I am after a speedmaster and was offer the following two which are, as far as I could made a quick search, from different years of production. Please, let me know how do you...

I will check reference and serial numbers. the upper one looks older but the other one has the metal logo on the dial which up to my humble knowledge, would mean older as later on they started using the white painted logo. Anyway, thank you so much for yo...

You're on the right track, For having posted here for the many experts to guide you. I'd agree, both pieces you've been offered seem pretty beat up, and I'd look for something better. Condition is always king for me when buying an older, used watch, for w...

I had one (my single Omega now) and is quite cool. It mimics the original watch, no crown guards, straight lugs but with sapphire crystal. On the inside a 1861, manual wind as it should be a Speedmaster. Cheers, Nilo ...

This would definitely be the one. However, in the same price range: How 'bout an original 145022-68 or 69? Although hard to find in genuine "original" condition, but isn't the hunt almost as much fun as the wearing?

you can pick up a superb condition 70's speedy for not a huge amount of money so the choices are vast. research reasearch research is all i can say. happy hunting G

if you ever think of buying a vintage seamaster 300 please please ask us all first as they are a minefield of fakes and forgeries. i'm on a facebook page called vintage watches and someone posted a military sm300 the other week being really proud of h... 

I have heard many stories of seamaster 300 dials and bakelite inserts both fake. So, thanks for the warning! Kind regards

The ones you show are absolutely great. However, I would recommend the limited edition, Apollo-Soyuz. It has a meteorite dial and sapphire crystal (vs acrylic). Not sure if it's easy to find though. I've been on the hunt for one.
