Good question. Here are some reasons . . .
Frustration with availability of other brands (AP and others).
High level craftsmanship of Parmigiani watches. The deeper I got into the brand, the more impressed I became.
Parmigiani design language resonated with me. PF designs can be quirky but they aren't "cookie cutter."
Availability at sensible pricing in the pre-owned and NOS markets.
The relative youthfulness of the brand made the idea of building a well-rounded collection seem achievable.
My impression that the new CEO, Guido Terreni, has the brand heading for wider market acceptance without sacrificing high horology standards.
Right or wrong, these are the factors that influenced me.

I don't like tourbillons visible in a hole on the dial. Not my cup of tea at all. This tourbillon is actually an inverted movement, i.e., what you would normally see looking at the backside of the watch. There is no dial hole which makes all the differenc...

I think those are great reasons
They all seem to be true. And as the big brands start going for volume where finishing isn’t what it used to be, PF is setting itself apart.

I followed the same path
although on a much smaller scale. Parmagiani has an integrity lacking in many bigger, and more popular, brands. I agree that Guido Terreni is steering PF to new heights. The Toric is both gorgeous and understated, like nothing I’ve seen before.
