Introducing the Parmigiani Pershing Chronograph.

This is the discontinued Parmigiani Pershing Chronograph, a sport watch dual-branded with the Italian yacht builder Pershing. It has been out of production for a few years. This version is in steel on a bracelet. Other iterations of the watch were in red gold, palladium and titanium, usually on rubber or croc straps. In addition to the chronograph model, Parmigiani made a small number of Pershing open-worked tourbillon watches.
It's a big watch, let's get that out of the way up front. Case dimensions are 45mm x 15mm approx. On the steel bracelet the watch weighs 242 grams.
Notwithstanding the physical dimensions of the Pershing, it wears easily on the wrist (or at least on my 18cm wrist). Parmigiani's trademark oversized curved lugs hold the watch securely in place. It is supremely comfortable and stable throughout a full day's duty.
As you can see the dial is decorated in subtle Geneva stripes.
The back is solid with an image of a Pershing yacht and the water resistance rating of 660 feet.
Inside is caliber PF334, a workhouse chronograph movement with approx. 50 hours power reserve and beating at 28,800 vph. To the best of my knowledge, this caliber has been superseded in the Parmigiani lineup with the new 36,000 vph movement PF071.
Probably not a watch to tuck under a cuff and wear to work, I see this piece as a watch to enjoy while lake living: boating, rowing, and driving
Having said that, I haven't had this beast off my wrist since the bracelet was sized earlier this week. I'm thoroughly loving it. Best of all, these Pershing watches can be found at reasonable prices on the pre-owned and "NOS" markets.
Thanks for looking and have a splendid weekend!
