I have several platinum watches ; each time I bought one, it was for a special reason, especially a dial version which didn't exist in an other metal. As far as I know, it is not the case here and the dial is the same as for the steel version. So except t... 

another collector on a different website posted his 5711 1/A against his new 5711P and the dial on the P is different. slightly lighter, more of a sea blue

Despite the metal: the "Patek Philippe Geneve" has a special room fot it, lower than SS version, as in black/ white version; dial's color seem to me slightly different as well, but that's hard to say without seen it in metal; it`s date window has a metal ... 

The colour of the dial, the frame around the date, the diamant in the case and the dial below the PATEK PHILIPPE GENEVE looks different. Cheers, Oliver ...  

Hi Oliver, I didn't even imagine the differences you underline. So I understand now more easily why buying a platinum version , if it is different of the steel one. My former post has then no reason to be ;-) Thanks for the informations. Best.

can't accept the steel version now:) I am a big fan of navy blue color re everything. From suits to car color. This deep navy blue ib platinum version just amazing and terrific. I like the steel version a lot but always thought it was a bit greyish and no...

but knowing the price I would be tempted to buy quite a few other Patek watches. Nice for sure but damn expensive for just a 3 hands watch

Please don't get me wrong...It is such a rare and nice piece. But I can not see the benefit...I would prefer the steel version and would have the same watch. And I would have have a very exclusive watch on my wrist, too. For me it is moneymaking. Just my ...

Hey Ken, I just had a talk with my fav. lady seller in Paris and she seems to say that, on the papers, the dial color has the same description as the usual blue one used in the Steel Nautiluses. Can the different color of the dial be because of the Pt ref... 

... she is talking about. On the right are 5711/1P-010, and on the left are SS 5711. Ken ...
