Before the Basel Fair, there was no other choice than the white dial if you like the 5960 / 1A. Now, there is an alternative: The black, or the white dial. Personally, I would go for the white. Why? Because it has an incredible depth and coolness. Not tha...

That they offered in white gold unfortunately! Almost perfect, I feel they should offer all of these in steel and with a strap option. I fear the bracelet may be a touch too intricate to fit the sports appeal of the watch itself. Ian

...but I think I would go for the black dial. On the Sporty - Chic line I would say the white one is more on the sporty side than the black dial. Because of the black colour but also because of the white gold finish of all the dial elements (hands, marker... 

Seen one black (pic cred Hodinkee) on a wrist and it looks amazing, very different character but very cool nevertheless. On a black cordovan strap perhaps? ...

Probably my next Patek, and I have the feeling yours too... Question though, how come the offitial price for the black dialed one is almost 20k than the White's secondary market? Does the white have same offitial price?

However I think the black will carry a different gray market price as I believe (read hope) Patek will better control supply of this. The white dial unfortunately is oversupplied and perhaps an error in estimating demand but hope they will sort that out g...

The black does not look good at all here. Just my opinion based on the photo alone.

The red seconds hand seems too much on the black dial.

I would go with the black dial. It has a very nice contrast with the quite 'busy' bracelet IMHO. Would love to see the WG version. Best, H

... it has certainly grown on me and the strap alteration makes it a highly useable, cool everyday Patek, especially with the vertical clutch. The black one has to be seen but is less attractive, possibly.

The black would be very well with a black leather red topstitching (the white dial also it is true) and maybe more classy. The white is more additional of a duomètre black dial chrono .

Neither. When Patek released the original 5960 I remember thinking they had stumbled across something really very special. For me the complications including the fly back function worked perfectly on a watch which I could wear with jeans or more formal we... 

but I can see the white has its charm. For me the best 5960 is still the original P with slate grey dial and white subdial. The new black is so-so. CC

In March I voted for the black version. At that time the white dial didn't appeal to me very much and also, I was eager to add a black dial PP to my collection. But meanwhile I had the chance to wear the white version several times on my wrist and I have ... 

I own the white and have been very happy but think I may prefer the black dial. I do have the all black platinum already, which is my favorite 5960, but am considering the black steel as I think it has a different look and serves a different purpose. When...

Hi remember we spoke about this before. But back then there was not choice on a black version. I think the black one looks a bit smaller (definitely a plus) But the white version has a more vintage look (Daytona style). Probably I would go for the black. ...

I have tried both at the Geneva Salon and the black makes the red chrono hand pop even more ! I think WG hand would have Been a better choice IMO since the dial is already quite busy Anyway the Cream dial is nicer and reminds me of the panda PN6263 I have... 

According to my Impression both watches have nothing, really nothing to do with each other, exept being a chronograph. Newman dials are matte and lack of colour change and deepness of laquer. 5960A has got this exciting colour of the dial becoming egg-She... 

The black minute track with small lumedots against the plain Cream dial... for me the clin d'œil with the PN dial is obvious... But I might be wrong... although I am not often ( lol )

For me the 5960 is much more bold and sporty with ist red details and calendar windows. The Newman is much more restrained with ist matte dial and elegant Art Deco fonts. Most importantly, we all like this model for different reasons.
